The building sits in harmony with its natural surroundings, offering a soft transition from the vineyard to its lush, green grass exterior. Rising gently from the earth around it, the Opus One winery does not rush to reveal itself.

This singular mission shapes every vintage, today and for generations to come. Together, the founders set out to create a single wine dedicated to the pursuit of uncompromising quality. Opus One is the realized dream of two men: Baron Philippe de Rothschild of Chateau Mouton Rothschild in Bordeaux and Napa Valley vintner Robert Mondavi. Grape Varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec History of Opus One It has a beautiful, elegant and velvety texture on the palate, almost silky. Floral and sweet on the nose, the Opus One Overture gives notes of oak, vanilla, and chocolate, with hints of dark berries and smoke. Toast and coffee beans come back in the after taste, persisting delicately for the some time. Dry and mildly acidic, this Napa Valley gem comes in a deep blood red color, suggesting at its bold taste. You could drink a bottle of this one and still ask for more. Alcohol is perfectly integrated and does not really seem 14.5%. Palate: Really good in the mouth as well, not too heavy, well defined acidity and solid body.

Nose: Bright red fruit, pungent cinnamon spice with underling toast, coffee beans and a certain stalky greenness. However, Overture’s third blending aspect – that of marrying multiple vintages – yields a softer, rounder expression of our estate that can be enjoyed upon release. Overture reflects the winemaker’s artistry by showcasing the talent of blending five traditional Bordeaux grape varieties and capturing terroir characteristics of the same variety grown in different soils.
